Hudson’s first Labor Day and football weekend September 5, 2013

Filed under: Baby Stuff,Friends and Family — thesimonadventures @ 3:35 pm

This was Hudson’s first Labor Day weekend! It was also his first SEC football watching experience!  Unfortunately we were at home and stuck inside all weekend due to the rain, but we still had fun!  Scott was out of town celebrating the nuptials for Matt Milam and Lauren Barrett, so my dad and brother came to Atlanta to keep us company.

.

We kicked it off on Thursday with the South Carolina Vs. North Carolina Game! USC won 27-10!! So, we started the weekend off right! It’s because Hudson looks so good in Garnet!

Next was to cheer on the Volunteers on Saturday.  TN was playing Austin Peay and it was a complete blow out 45-0.  The game was on ESPN 3 or something, so we had to watch it on apple-tv via streaming.  The big game was GA vs. Clemson. Unfortunately Clemson won (we dislike both teams but needed GA to win this one and lose the next week against USC)…  All in all we had a nice relaxing sports filled weekend.  It’s also the US Open!!! So, we have been watching that too!

A few weeks ago, January 24th to be exact, we went to the OBGYN for our 18 week ultra sound.  We did not want to find out the gender at the doctor’s office, I mean where’s the fun in that?  So, we threw a gender reveal party with some of our closest friends and family!  I decided to find out via a delicious Publix cake!

.

Trust me I was a nervous WRECK before the party.  I was afraid they were going to somehow mess the cake up, and write on there “congrats it’s a girl” or something.  Luckily the Publix cake decorators/bakers are amazing and the cake turned out perfectly!

.

I was so excited to find out, I started decorating my house a week early! That Friday, my Mom and Dad came to town, for the party, so they helped me with the last minute details and food which I GREATLY appreciated!

.

The party started at 5pm on Saturday. Everyone was supposed to wear the color for the gender they wanted or thought the baby was going to be.  When people arrived we had them vote for what they thought the baby was going to be. We catered some BBQ, had some eats, and then cut the cake at 7pm.  If I waited a second longer I was going to explode!  We Google video chatted Scott’s parents (his dad was sick) and his sister, in Chicago.

Here are the pics!

Time to start SHOPPING!

Reflection on 2012 January 1, 2013

Filed under: Friends and Family — thesimonadventures @ 7:16 pm

2012 held a lot of new adventures for us.  We rang in 2012 with our close friends at Park Tavern, celebrated our friend Erika’s 30th Birthday in Marietta, Scott went skiing in Lake Tahoe with the Chicago guys, he also went to the Cubs opening day, we ran Warrior Dash for the second time, saw two tennis friends get married in North GA, watched two wonderful people get married in gorgeous Costa Rica and while we were there we ate the BEST fish Tacos on the planet (I’m drooling just thinking about them… YUM), we celebrated the birth of baby Raegan Turley, traveled to many states for work and met great people doing it (I learned to Wake Surf, in Austin TX, it was SO awesome), watched some great SEC football with friends, celebrated Erika’s pregnancy, enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families, and oh yea we GOT PREGNANT!!!!!

2012 was filled with great memories for us but I have a feeling 2013 will be filled with even more.  I am so excited for our new adventure, as it is THE adventure of a lifetime!

Little Baby Simon is due in June and we couldn’t be happier… we just have to start getting ready!
